While drawing inspiration from around the globe, our glass mosaics line is produced in northern Spain. We landed on a location that values sustainability, supporting our desire to use primarily renewable energy and recycled materials. The artisans who craft this line pride themselves both on best-in-class glassworks and a commitment to recycling everything possible, from water to cardboard waste, and our mosaics are made from 98% recycled glass.

Zia’s glass mosaic tiles begin with discarded glass, allowing for tiles composed of 98% recycled materials. The materials are melted and individually formed in a mold, then fired in electric kilns. With recycled material and renewable energy, sustainability is at the core of this process. 

As each square tile is cooled and removed from its mold, they are thoughtfully hand-placed on grids, in patterns and solid sheets. Our seven intentional patterns draw inspiration from artworks, fashion textiles, and locations like Los Angeles’s Union Station. Whether solid, patterns, or a mix of the two, our vibrant collection and easy-to-install sheets allows for highly personalized installations. 

While the tile is naturally resistant to staining, we recommend working with skilled installers with exceptional attention to detail for the best installation results. 

Sweep or vacuum glass mosaic tile regularly to prevent surface abrasion, and promptly clean up any spills or liquids. Floors and walls can be wiped or mopped with warm, clean water. While any cleaning products work well with this tile, we recommend a pH-neutral cleaner like Miracle Sealants pH Neutral Tile and Stone Cleaner. For heavier stains, opt for Miracle Sealants Heavy Duty Cleaner (Acid Substitute). 

We always recommend working with a professional installer who has experience with small format glass tile, specifically. Here is an overview of the installation process:

• Start by blending the sheets within your boxes to evenly distribute natural variation.
• Remove the paper backing on the tile and evenly apply an Epoxy thinset.
• Press the sheets into place with the palm of your hand.
• Let the thinset fully cure. 
• Grout in small sections using an Epoxy grout and wipe clean as you go.
• No need to seal!
