Green is a color that ranges from restful to bold, depending on tone. The shimmering olive tones in Savanna zellige and the perfect pastel of Eucalyptus ceramics echo the natural materials people already associate with a calm room, in a palette ranging from sage to moss to stone. A deep, saturated option like Jade or Racing Green zellige, or Verde Alpi Italian marble, shifts the scale toward something richer, without losing the color's grounded, natural quality.

The difference comes down to saturation. Olive greens, like our Savanna zellige and Spanish Moss ceramics, are more restrained and earthy, closer to the tone of dried herbs than a bright leaf. Jewel-toned greens, like Jade zellige and Frogtown ceramics, are deeply saturated and read as a design statement rather than a backdrop. Even a darker zellige like Racing Green features a glaze that shifts with the light in the room, while Zeppelin cement holds a steadier, more consistent matte tone from tile to tile.

Absolutely, green tiles are a popular choice for both kitchens and bathrooms when the material and finish match the application. Zellige and ceramics are popular options for backsplashes and shower walls. For floors in wet spaces, clients often specify a matte or textured finish that proves more slip-resistant; a minimum of 1/8" grout spacing is also helpful. Please check the installation guides for the specific material sealing guidance, and reseal most often in shower environments and heavily trafficked floors.

Selecting the ideal green tile for your project will depend on both tone and material. Some greens lean warm and earthy, while others read cooler or more blue. Order samples and evaluate them in the actual installation space, since green finishes may shift depending on cycles of natural and artificial light.

Yes, our tiles are great in showers, but please be mindful of the finish. Our satin Eucalyptus and Cypress ceramics carry a DCOF of 0.45, which suits both shower walls and shower floors. Glossy greens like Kelp Forest and Oud are limited to walls, since the glossy selections fall below the slip-resistance threshold required for a wet floor. Our marble, terrazzo, zellige, and Cotto Allende tiles are also approved for wet applications, with proper sealing.

Yes, samples can be added directly from any tile page by selecting the color and size, and the first five samples are complimentary. Up to ten samples total may be ordered, with a maximum of four per unique tile. For additional questions, contact the Zia team at info@ziatile.com or 310‑844‑1170.

Please have your contractor, designer, or installer confirm the square footage needed for your tile order. A professional should measure each surface in feet, multiplying length by width, then add the totals together for the full square footage. Plan for a minimum overage of 15% to account for curation and cuts. Handmade and natural stone materials may need up to 25% to account for more controlled visual consistency across an installation.
