Our black, white and ginger cement tile, the Brixton, is a focal point of the hotel’s main restaurant, La Neta. Brixton complements the mid-century modern, California decor in this Pacific Northwest haven. With La Neta’s Mexican-fare, you get to escape the rain and live like a Californian.
We spoke to the design team about a few of their goals. They set out to make this space a community destination for both hotel guests and locals. “The Hoxton Hotels are known for their flowing, immersive spaces. Instead of being a series of separate rooms the lobby, bar, restaurant and coffee shop are always designed to merge seamlessly into one another.” This seamlessness allows for the space to evolve from a workplace in the day to a dinner and drinks destination.
The London-based design studio worked with our team to develop a custom cement tile. “We took inspiration from an ornate black and white tile with a criss-cross brass inlay. Mike and Danny came to our LA studio several times to help us develop and tweak the design. The process was seamless and we were delighted with the result.”
“The flooring in the restaurant really defines that space and it is one of the most photographed features of the first floor areas.”
The restaurant is individualized from the bar with our bespoke black, white and ginger tile. The ginger accent brightens up any room and adds visual interest to the space. This modern 8 x 8” cement tile pushes past the traditional with its angular lines and subtle pop of color. It’s daring enough for the design risk-takers while keeping those who prefer the understated happy as well. This handmade tile captivates, ushers in the unexpected, and brings joy to any space. We have brought this custom tile to the people—shop the Brixton and our other encaustic cement tiles here.
